Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy The Legacy Edition

Dissidia 012 (Duodecim) Final Fantasy is a sequel from the previous game, Dissidia Final Fantasy. Although a sequel, but the story itself is a prequel. The story will tell us about the Twelfth Cycle (cycle 012) of the battles between God of Harmony (Cosmos) and God of Discord (Chaos), and what happened to 6 new characters (Lightning FF XIII), Kain (FF IV), Tifa (FF VII), Laguna (FF VIII), Yuna (FF X) and Vaan (FF XII) as they do not appear in the next cycle (cycle 013) in previous game. There’s also 2 new secret characters to unlock, but if they are mentioned then they aren’t secret, are they? :p

Beside characters, this game also includes new Assist mode where you can call your assist to aid you in battle and distract your opponent, or even to take damage using their HP attack! All characters in this game can become Assist, and if you buy Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy Prologus then you can unlock Aerith (FF VII) to become an Assist character. Cool!

Another additions in this new game is a Party can be arranged that consists 2 or 5 characters to fight within the story or even take a 5 vs 5 duel with your friends! A party battle can be a Tournament where a character has to fight all the opponents until he/she is defeated, or a Round-Robin where a character only fights with one character, and the party who has the most points of win will become the winner.

The Duel Coliseum mode in previous game is changed (or upgraded) into Labyrinth mode, where the gameplay is still using Cards (Opponents, Jobs, Treasures, Status Effects), now you can explore the labyrinth and fight the bosses inside it. To advance to next room, some requirements must be met such as defeating the boss, win party battle, got enough medals, and so on. Because the labyrinth is quite large, you can save your progress if you find Tent and rest (just like the old times). Just prepare yourself into this deep, vast dungeon full with opponents and also treasures! Can you survive it?

There’s also a huge pack of DLCs (Downloadable Contents) that can be purchased through PlayStation Store or from the other game purchases such as The 3rd Birthday to get Lightning’s Aya Costume, Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy The Legacy Edition to get Squall and Tifa’s costume, Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep to get Cloud and Sephiroth’s Costume, and others. Beside costumes, music packs are also available to be purchased, and there’s a lot of original music from Final Fantasy games as background musics in your battle.
